Diana developed a strong sense of civic duty from an early age, from her mother. Her mother was an early pioneer in the 1990s in reducing crime in downtown North Las Vegas.
Diana attended Rancho High School where she was involved in sports, Student Council, Yearbook, Journalism, and was exposed to politics as she attended Nevada Girl State.
Diana was a business owner in the City of North Las Vegas. She owned and operated a cleaning business and provided jobs to parents needing a flexible schedule for their children.
Diana has a veracious desire for personal growth, knowledge and leadership skills has lead her to constantly pursue national leadership training opportunities.
Selected to attend the invitation-only Community Leadership Institute hosted by NeighborWorks America Home | NeighborWorks America, where she completed intensive training in grassroots leadership, community engagement, and project planning. Collaborated with a local team to develop and present an actionable neighborhood improvement plan, with the opportunity to apply for grant funding to support implementation.
NTIs are held several times a year in different U.S. cities and include week-long, in-person led by national experts. Participants earn certificates and CEUs and can specialize in various tracks, including real estate development, asset management, or community engagement.
Diana believes in the power of community engagement and has dedicated countless hours to various local initiatives. Her community involvement includes:
Board of directors for over seven years, where she helps ensure that NHSSN stays true to its mission of fostering partnerships, creating affordable housing, and enabling homeownership, education, and neighborhood revitalization.
A member of over ten years and has served as a Chair. A subcommittee of the NHSSN Board of Directors, focused on building and sustaining relationships with the community, raising awareness, ensuring that the organization’s programs are informed by community needs, and helping with outreach and participation.
She helped build the trust and built a relationship between the community and the Department by discussing ideas and concerns, as well educating the citizens on police related issues.
A parent representative for many years at various schools in CCSD. She has been an advisor to principals on important decisions like the school budget, staffing, and the School Performance Plan. She also has been part of the hiring process for new principals.
North Las Vegas Police Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Las Vegas Department of Public Safety, Las Vegas Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (LVCPAAA).
A mentor and support for teenage girls through weekly activities focused on personal growth, community service, leadership development, and life skills. Her role involves planning events, building strong relationships, and helping youth navigate challenges in a safe, supportive environment.

The city will become a hub for family fun with revitalized parks, cultural venues, and vibrant downtown attractions.
Our revamped victim advocacy program will offer trauma-informed care, legal support, and outreach to underserved communities.
This vision coincides with the city’s strategic goals for 2025–2030, which include community safety, health and well-being, and identity and engagement.
